The Story of My Irish Jeweler

A true veteran of the jewelry market in Ireland, Peter Gavin comes from a family of jewelers dating back to the 1960s. His family business, College House Jewellers, was a landmark of the Irish jewelry trade for over 50 years at the heart of iconic George’s Street, in Dublin, Ireland.

A Beginning - My grandfather, Louis Gavin, opened a successful jewelry store on Aungier Street, and later the fondly remembered Gavin's Jewellers on George's Street

College House Jewellers - My father opened College House Jewellers in the same year as The Beatles released their debut single. I joined the family business in 1964 and I have been working with Irish jewelry ever since.

My Irish Jeweler - I met a young web designer called Ciaran Vipond and together we launched My Irish Jeweler in 2005. I always enjoyed doing "mail order" for customers abroad. With My Irish Jeweler, I hoped to bring our beautiful designs to a global audience.

The Story Continues - In 2011 we closed the doors of College House Jewellers for the final time. With My Irish Jeweler, we continue to bring the finest Irish Jewelry to customers around the world. It's hard to believe! Over 50 years since my father first opened his store, and we are still here.

At the core of My Irish Jeweler is a real dedication to providing exceptional personal service to each of our customers and a real connection with their Irish homeland. This is so central in our thoughts that we even made it our logo! Our logo mark is the word "Home" written in Ogham script, the alphabet of the ancient Irish.
