Written by Ciaran Vipond on July 25, 2022 | 0 Comments

A note from our founder

Peter and I started My Irish Jeweler together over 15 years ago. I have learnt so much from him in this time, and enjoyed every minute of it. It is with the greatest of respect that today we announce his retirement.

Thank you Peter. And I wish you every happiness in the future.

Do chara,
Ciarán

A letter from Peter

A chara

After nearly 60 years in the Irish jewellery business, the time is right for me to announce my retirement. I am incredibly proud of all we have achieved in growing My Irish Jeweler into the customer-centreed family business it is today.

I know that the personal service you have come to expect from us will continue with Ciarán, Gemma and the wonderful team here at My Irish Jeweler.

Together with Ciarán, we started My Irish Jeweler as a small “second-act” business to keep me busy after I closed College House Jewellers. If I had only known how busy we would be!

I will always remember the conversations I’ve enjoyed with customers and friends around the world. Over the years, I have built up relationships with many of you, helping you to find that perfect piece of Irish jewellery to mark your family milestones.

The future

I know that the personal service you have come to expect from us will continue with Ciarán, Gemma and the team at My Irish Jeweler. I am excited to see My Irish Jeweler continue to thrive, bringing expert personal service and outstanding Irish jewellery to the world.

My Irish Jeweler is part of my precious family legacy stretching back 75 years. I have given my all to this business and the fantastic customers we serve. As I look forward to my retirement, it comforts me to leave you in such capable hands.

It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve you over the years. Thank you for your trust, and your kind words of support. I have enjoyed every minute of the work and will cherish fond memories of our time together

Le meas,
Peter Gavin

My Irish Jeweler

Born in Co. Antrim and reared in Dublin, I was fascinated with Gaelic culture from an early age. I suppose it's not surprising given my mother inherited a grá for the Irish language from my grandfather, an Irish school headmaster. And that grá continues! My brother and sister are now Gaelic teachers here in Ireland, my niece is an award winning Irish dancer, and I proudly work to share Irish culture through our Irish and Celtic Jewelry at My Irish Jeweler!

I love researching and reading about the history of Irish design. It's at the core of what we do here at My Irish Jeweler. I find much of it so interesting that I have to share what I find. I hope you enjoy it!
