About This Piece

Oxidised three wire stands of sterling silver are loosely plaited together lending to a flexible mesh feel to the touch.

The open ended sides are deliberately speckled with black oxidation lending to an old world or antique feel full of character. This is not to be considered a flaw or fault as the levels of oxidation can vary on each individual piece.

Dating back to the time of the Celts, the torc or torque was worn as a status symbol and an external expression of your wealth and high rank in society. The torc was a revered piece of jewellery worn in battles and other rituals. And it seems the Celts even gave them as an offerings to their Gods.

The bangle is not flimsy and weights a sturdy 24 grammes.
