This sterling silver necklace set with stunning blue stones is inspired by the Legend of Tir Na N'Og. Enbarr of Manannan is the magical silver horse that dances across the waves to the mythical land of Tír na nÓg, an otherworldly island of eternal youth, beauty and love.
With a flowing, gold plated mane and tail, this expertly crafted necklace captures the magic this mythical horse, Tír na nÓg, and the romantic legend of Niamh and Oisin.
Niamh, one of the beautiful inhabitants of this mythical isle, was said to have fallen in love at first sight with the Irish hero Oisin while travelling on her mythical horse Enbarr. Oisin was just as taken with Niamh, and he agreed to travel across the waves with her on her horse to Tír na nÓg to live in eternal love and youth.
They lived together there in health and happiness for 300 years never growing a day older. But Oisin missed his family and his home. Niamh could see he was troubled and so loaned Oisin her horse to ride back to Ireland warning him not to touch the ground or he could never return.
Oisin rode back across the waves, finding his family and friends long dead and Ireland changed. Turning to return to Niamh and Tír na nÓg, Oisin slipped from the saddle helping some locals lift a stone. Touching the earth, Enbarr disappeared in a silver flash over the waves. Oisin rapidly aged, living just long enough to tell his tragic tale.
This wonderful legend of true love, loss, and the twists and turns of life's journey makes this necklace a beautiful gift for those finding their path or fans of Irish folklore. Crafted in Dublin and hallmarked in the Assay Office at Dublin Castle, the necklace comes in luxury packaging perfect for gifting.
The necklace is measured including the bale. Hallmarked here in Dublin, at the assay office in Dublin Castle, the necklace includes an 18 inch sterling silver cable chain.
