This Claddagh ring is very dainty petite, and lightweight. An ideal choice for a young child or teenager. There is very good attention to detail on the cuffs of the hand and the crown. The Claddagh ring is an all time favourite with Irish people as the meaning speaks of Love, Loyalty and Friendship. The two hands signify friendship, the heart love, and the crown loyalty.
Traditionally it was worn as wedding band, however, in more modern times it is worn as an expression of love or friendship. There are two ways of wearing the ring. If the heart is pointing towards the body, the wearer is 'spoken for' so to speak, worn with the heart pointing away from the body indicates the wearer is on the 'lookout' for a new romance or her heart is not taken.
