St Brigid is the female patron saint of Ireland. We celebrate her day on the first day of Spring, 1st February. The cross was originally made from rushes and reeds hence its peculiar shape. It was hung over the door in houses believing it would protect the home from fire and evil spirits.
This striking sterling silver cross is inlaid with the beautiful green Connemara Marble stone. This famous stone is found exclusively on the west coast of Ireland. The marble has many properties including hard-wearing and resistance to staining. Every piece of marble is a different shade of green ranging from a deep sage green to a pale green.

The cross itself is delicate and beautiful. It came artfully packaged in such a way that we can present it as a gift along with information about why we chose this particular cross. We will use this jeweler again. We were very satisfied.
