We have been busy this summer preparing a beautiful new collection of Celtic Knot pieces inspired by Ireland's rich heritage of intricate metal work. Guided by the peerless skill of master Irish craftspeople of old, we've put together pieces that show off the beauty and versatility of Celtic Knot-work to great effect.

Crafted with your important occasions for the coming season in mind, we hope you are as taken with this collection of earrings and pendants as we are.

Read on to find out more about the inspiration and heritage behind each piece.

Defined by a continuous, unbroken pattern of interwoven strands, knot-work or interlace, is one of the most common features of both modern and ancient Celtic art.

Our Celtic ancestors used intricate interlace for decoration, to denote eternity and faith, or to declare love and unity. Today we use interlace crafted in fine sterling silver to signify much the same, epitomized by our new and exclusive Heritage Celtic Knot Pendant and Earrings.

Two polished strands of sterling silver intertwine unbroken to form a graceful Celtic interlace in this elegant statement pendant. This ring of interlace frames a sparkling round cut Cubic Zirconia (CZ) in a rub over setting, adding a pop of beautiful amethyst purple to the striking design.

Measuring 1.1" high with fitting and 0.7" wide, the matching earrings will add an elegant touch of Celtic flair to any look and are sure to draw compliments wherever and whenever they are worn.

Iconic Trinity Knot

Crafted in a popular crescent shape, both the form and the intricate knot-work of our new Stone Set Necklet draw inspiration from the Celtic torc treasures of ancient Ireland.

Weighty strands of fine sterling silver intertwine to form intricate Celtic knot-work incorporating two Trinity Knots in heart shaped frames.

This interlace also encloses a sparkling, round cut, Cubic Zirconia (CZ) in a rub over setting. This touch of glamour also brings the opportunity to personalise your necklace, with your choice from 6 sparkling birthstones.

  • Garnet Red (January birthstone)
  • Amethyst Purple (February birthstone)
  • Sparkling White (April birthstone)
  • Emerald Green (May birthstone)
  • Peridot Green (August birthstone)
  • Sapphire Blue (September birthstone)

Onyx

Onyx has a long history and symbolism. The ancient Romans believed it bestowed courage, while in Chinese culture it was considered grounding for its wearer. Renaissance Europeans wore onyx for eloquence and it was even used to give strength to expectant mothers in childbirth! This gorgeous stone continues to be treasured today as many wearers believe it brings feelings of reassurance, courage and determination.

Agate

Prized by many ancient cultures for its protective powers, Agate was considered especially lucky in China. Believed to bring harmony, health, and protection, green agate continues to be worn by many today as an aide for concentration, creating balance between body and mind.

My Irish Jeweler

Born in Co. Antrim and reared in Dublin, I was fascinated with Gaelic culture from an early age. I suppose it's not surprising given my mother inherited a grá for the Irish language from my grandfather, an Irish school headmaster. And that grá continues! My brother and sister are now Gaelic teachers here in Ireland, my niece is an award winning Irish dancer, and I proudly work to share Irish culture through our Irish and Celtic Jewelry at My Irish Jeweler!

I love researching and reading about the history of Irish design. It's at the core of what we do here at My Irish Jeweler. I find much of it so interesting that I have to share what I find. I hope you enjoy it!
