The My Irish Jeweler Community
Written by Gemma on Nov 27, 2024 | 0 Comments
With all the rushing around these days, it can be hard to pause and take stock of what is most important. For all of us here at My Irish Jeweler, the answer is easy - our friends and family, which, of course, includes our wonderful community around the world.
As a small Irish family business, we value our wonderful community most of all. We are delighted to connect with friends the world over who have chosen to include My Irish Jeweler in their stories. It's our great privilege to play a small part in so many memorable moments. Here are some stories from 2024 that really warmed our hearts:
Family is everything
Roxie Sue got in touch with us at the end of September this year hoping to get a silver ring with the Barry Family Coat of Arms for her lucky husband. Having previously sourced his wedding ring from us, we already knew the size and got to work straight away knowing it was needed in a hurry!
The Barry family crest on one hand and a heavyweight Celtic Knot ring on the other. This is how to do men's jewelry!
We were so happy to hear they were both delighted with the ring when it arrived. We think he wears his Irish rings very well and would happily give him a hand modelling job if he fancies it! In the meantime, thank you to the lovely couple for sharing this handsome snap!
If you would like an heirloom with your family name, you can find a selection of necklaces and rings made with your Coat of Arms in solid sterling silver or gold.
A Family Man
A little earlier in 2024, we heard from Ellen and Denis. We bet you can guess when it was!
Denis planned ahead and had the shamrock pendants ordered in 2023, ready for the celebrations in 2024. We think you will agree he nailed the look! In his own words:
"I love my Irish jewelry and family on St Patrick's Day 2024!"
We couldn't agree more with the sentiment, and thank you to Ellen and Dennis for sharing the fabulous snaps. It looked like a great party - your family knows how to have fun!
Shopping for a stylish gent? We have handsome pieces like our heavyweight shamrock that are perfect for St. Patrick's Day and any other day too!
Love finds a way
A lovely Austrian couple, Arnulf and Daniela, contacted us this year to purchase matching rings. The couple chose two of our Ogham Celtic Warrior Rings, personalized with their own Ogham inscription and hand engraving, to celebrate their love for each other.
We were a little worried when storm Boris hit Austria just as the rings were shipping out from Dublin. We needn’t have fretted! Love finds a way, and the rings made it through severe flooding to arrive bang on time. We think you’ll agree they look right at home with the happy couple! Thank you, Arnulf and Daniela, for putting your trust in us and for sharing your story.
Matching rings are a perfect way to celebrate a deep and lasting bond. Check out our selection of matching ring sets.
Celebrating Connection
Connecting people with Ireland is at the core of why we do what we do, so we were all delighted here at My Irish Jeweler when Mark and Christine contacted us this summer with their lovely photos and beautiful story that speaks to just that.
In Christine's own words:
“Ireland is very much a part of me and Mark knows that. The fact he had you craft a gorgeous engagement ring for me means more than you know. St. Brigid’s Well is very special to me as it sits on my family’s land. It was the perfect place to get engaged.... There were so many beautiful signs... It was simply magical.”
To give the backstory, Christine was born & raised in Rochester, NY, but had deep ties to Ireland. Her great-great-grandparents emigrated in 1872. And she has been unravelling her family's story since she spent time in Ireland studying to be a teacher at St Patrick’s College here in Dublin!
She now has connections all over Ireland: family (and a charming engagement story) in Co. Wexford, friends in Wicklow, Clare, and here in Dublin at My Irish Jeweler. Comhghairdeas, congratulations to the lovely couple and Sláinte! Cheers to a long life filled with love and connection.
Finding the one can take a while. And once you have found them, getting the right ring to celebrate that deep connection can be nearly as tough! We are experts at helping romantic folks find the perfect ring for their own unique love story.
I'm not crying. You're crying!
We were all welling up with (happy) tears when we heard from Laura and John in early 2024 about their beautiful wedding. The lovely couple had chosen Claddagh bands with Celtic Knot detailing to match the symbolism of Laura's stunning Claddagh Solitaire Ring.
They were a real delight to work with and the feeling, it seems, was mutual. John's words that had us all in floods below:
We were in search of rings and found a family! My wife had always been drawn to the history and tradition of the claddagh ring. I initially called another store and the reception was ice cold and she told me leave a message and I did. And was never reached back.
I saw My Irish Jeweler and was intimidated by the phone number to Ireland, so I used the chat feature which is always cold and impersonal. Ms. Vicky popped up and I didn’t know how but through the text box she was able to grab my hand and take me to her store, answering every question and concern I had.
When I told her what I wanted she listened and even had suggestions on rings that didn’t cost as much as what I was looking at. The point I want to make is that Ms. Vicky wanted to genuinely help make this purchase perfect, it wasn’t about money, she made it about us.
If you are looking for the perfect ring for your special someone, please come here. I promise you will find the ring and a new member of the family.
Ms. Vicky was so special to us and gave us a cherished story to remembered every time we look at the rings, and sent us a beautiful card that was added to our collection of wedding memories that we have placed on our wall in our home.
And to Ms. Vicky….you are well aware of how important you became to us and especially me during one of the most important purchases one can ever make, saying thank you simply won’t do, there are no words to express my appreciation for you. And since the English language fails at providing the words that genuinely show appreciation for you and how you treated us…. I am simply left with Thank you so much for everything!
It's an understatement to say that John's words made our day, week, and possibly year. They were a wonderful reminder that it is a real honour to do what we do. We were beyond delighted that the couple were so comfortable with us and, more importantly, that they had the rings they really wanted as a beautiful symbol of their love and connection. We wish the happy couple a lifetime of grá, dílseacht, agus cairdeas.
We are experts in wedding rings with deep symbolism and meaning, like the Claddagh emblem. If you are searching for bands to capture the beautiful connection you share with a special someone, we will do our best to find you the perfect match.
