My Irish Jeweler is 20!

Written by Ciaran on Oct. 06, 2025 | 0 Comments

We're celebrating 20 wonderful years at My Irish Jeweler this week. Which has us reflecting on our own journey and the many happy memories we have built up over that time:

Early Days

One of my favorite old Irish phrases is "Tús maith leath na hoibre," A good start is half the work! This springs to mind when I think of how My Irish Jeweler started. I was a Dubliner in my 20s when I first met Peter Gavin, a veteran of Irish Jewelry. We hit it off immediately. Together we set up My Irish Jeweler, to bring our shared passion for Celtic jewelry and Irish culture to a global audience.

Working with the best

“Is fearr lán doirn de cheird ná lán mála d’ór,” A handful of skill is better than a bagful of gold. Yes this Irish phrase was coined long before the price of gold skyrocketed! But we still think the premise holds and it is an idea that is at the core of My Irish Jeweler from the very beginning.

We have found so much joy and inspiration in working with the most skilled and dedicated Irish craftspeople. Sharing Ireland’s rich and beautiful culture and traditions with our growing global community.

Rooted in Community

It is our wonderful global community that has done so much to shape what this small family business has become. You have given us encouragement to share what Ireland has to offer.

And our wonderful team here at My Irish Jeweler has excelled throughout. Making sure we have strong roots, and also being brave enough to reach for the sky!

Building this incredible community, brings real truth to another of my favorite Irish phrases. “Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine,” people live in each other’s shelter. The world is really a very small place. It is our great honor to have our lives impacted by so many wonderful people, and to play a small part in the nostalgia and happiness that treasured jewelry brings to so many lives.

We’ve had so much fun!

With all the fun we have had, it is hard to believe it’s been 20 years. We can be certain that “Giorraíonn beirt bóthar”. Two shorten the road!

We’ve shared so many happy memories, which is fitting really. Memories are at the core of what we do here at My Irish Jeweler. For 20 years now, our pieces have been carefully selected by people around the world as reminders of magical moments and cherished relationships in their lives.

Here’s to many more years and happy memories to come.

My Irish Jeweler

Born in Co. Antrim and reared in Dublin, I was fascinated with Gaelic culture from an early age. I suppose it's not surprising given my mother inherited a grá for the Irish language from my grandfather, an Irish school headmaster. And that grá continues! My brother and sister are now Gaelic teachers here in Ireland, my niece is an award winning Irish dancer, and I proudly work to share Irish culture through our Irish and Celtic Jewelry at My Irish Jeweler!

I love researching and reading about the history of Irish design. It's at the core of what we do here at My Irish Jeweler. I find much of it so interesting that I have to share what I find. I hope you enjoy it!
