Celtic Warrior

Our Celtic Warrior collection is inspired by the intricate engravings and filigree on the Ardagh Chalice. This 8th century Celtic relic has inspired Irish design since its discovery in a potato field in 1868.

Continuing A Tradition Of Craftsmanship

This unique design is inspired by the intricate engravings and filigree on the Ardagh Chalice, an ancient Irish treasure. The 8th Century chalice features a celtic “shield” design and images of animals and birds. At only 7 inches tall, with 48 different designs, made from 354 individual pieces and 9 materials including precious gold, it is a stunning piece of art that is widely regarded as the finest example of ancient celtic metalwork ever discovered. We are proud to continue this tradition of craftsmanship in our Celtic Warrior range.

Ancient Treasure

The Ardagh Chalice itself is on display at the National Museum of Ireland thanks to its discovery by two young Limerick lads in 1868. They were out digging in a potato field on the flanks of the Ardagh ring fort. Imagine their astonishment when they uncovered the chalice and other treasure under a stone, lying protected by tales of fairies at the fort for 100s or even 1000s years. Two modern interpretations of the chalice can be seen each September in Croke Park, when the winners of the All-Ireland football and camogie finals hoist the Sam Maguire and the O’Duffy Cup.

Beauty In The Details

Whether admired by sport fans each September or visitors to the National Museum, the timeless and beautifully detailed design of the Ardagh Chalice continues to delight to this day. And now you share in this with your own piece of Irish heritage and culture in your Celtic Warrior jewelry. With beauty transcending 1000s of years, our Celtic Warrior pieces can be worn proudly and passed down the generations.
