About This Piece

This solid and strong sterling silver bangle has a classic, open ended, celtic 'Torc' shape which can be worn to the front or back.

This bangle will be personalized for you, engraved with your choice of name or a word of significance in Ogham. Ogham is the oldest form of Irish writing and is over 1500 years old. The Ogham alphabet consists of groups of lines, set across a vertical "stem". Each group represents a different letter, and each letter corresponds to a tree, giving Ogham the lovely nickname, the tree alphabet.

This bangle has also been engraved with trisikle spirals like those found in Neolithic art that is much older than ogham, to 5000 years ago. Many see this enigmatic symbol as representing motion and progression making this a fitting one for a gift to mark a milestone in a child's life like a christening, communion or confirmation.
