This sterling silver necklace replicates the intriguing form of a St. Brigid's cross in stunning sterling silver. Crosses such as this have been cherished in Ireland for years but they are now growing in popularity worldwide.
St Brigid is one of Ireland's three patron saints and her day is marked here in Ireland on the 1st February.
The shape and texture of this cross replicates the original, which was reportedly woven by Brigid herself from green rushes. According to tradition a new Brigid's cross is made every year, hung by the door or fireplace to protect the home.
This necklace has been crafted from solid sterling silver with two different finishes - a matte and polished. This adds texture and depth to the cross, capturing the feel of a traditional woven cross.
The necklace is 1.2" long including the bale - an ideal length to highlight the cross on the neckline.
