Many couples are choosing to incorporate family diamonds or gemstones into their engagement rings and wedding bands, and we think it’s a beautiful idea from a sentimental and sustainability point of view.
However, the reality is that a jeweler will need completely accurate dimensions of the stone(s) you wish to use. They will also check if you want to reuse gold from the original piece, or whether you would like the gems set in a new mount. This is often a very in-depth process for both the designer and the client, and it works best with ongoing communication between all parties involved.
At My Irish Jeweler, we offer finished products only and do not sell mounts separately. As a result, we do not take on custom work of this type.
