This is a great Sterling Silver Unisex ring. Mo Anam Cara, meaning my 'Soul Mate' has been carved into the band using Ogham writing. Ogham script is the first known written language of the Irish. Each linear line represents a letter from the old Irish alphabet.
In the oxidized or blackened finish, the background gives it that 'old world' charm using a combination of black enamel and oxidization. The rims are highly polished to create a stunning combination of black and white.
In the Florentine Silver finish, you have a matte background with polished Ogham writing.
We have also added a Trinity Knot symbol to signify eternity and eternal love.
Ogham writing was first used on stones or boulders and dates back to the 5th century. The persons name who passed into the spiritual world was etched on the front of the stone to commemorate their passing. An interesting concept is the name reads from bottom to top, not top to bottom.There are many fine examples of Ogham stones still scatted around Ireland reminding us of wonderful history and heritage.
