This Sterling Silver handmade brooch is made by Irish designer Aidan Breen. The brooch features a pierced or cut out design with the most beautiful soft flow of semi circles and interlocking Celtic pattern. The skill involved shows Aidan's extraordinary talent for finesse and delicacy. When a Goldsmith is so gifted many pseudo designers try to imitate Aidan's work, however his workmanship is never rivaled! The brooch is solid and quite heavy, looks amazing on the lapel of a coat or a chunky sweater. The silver is polished to a very high sheen and will not go unnoticed on the wearer.
Inspired by a Literary Masterpiece
The design is inspired by Ireland's world-famous Book Of Kells, an 8th centuryl manuscript. It is housed in the library of Trinity College Dublin from the mid 19th century and attracts more than 500,000 visitors a year. It contains the four Gospels in Latin. Two volumes are normally on display, one opened to display a major decorated page and one to show two pages of script.
This brooch would make the perfect gift for the Lady who appreciates quality at its finest with wonderful history attached. The brooch measures approx 1.5" in diameter. Hallmarked in Dublin by the Assay Office. (An independent Government body, responsible for quality control of precious metals)
The same design is also available as a pendant, worn with a solid 24" or 28" chain. Details on request.
