About This Piece

Carefully crafted in weighty sterling silver, the medal depicts St Christopher carrying a child safely across a river on his shoulder, staff in hand. A polished sterling silver oval bezel with the traditional wording 'St Christopher protect us' frames this scene and is in turn framed by a handsome oxidized Celtic braid.

Solid and strong like the saint it depicts, this medal has a weighty feel, with a large bale to accommodate a chunky chain.

The patron saint of travelers, representing protection and safety, St Christopher is an enduringly popular saint worldwide to this day. With stories of his heroic efforts to help people pass safely through danger, medals with St Christophers image were often worn by sailors, soldiers, and mariners for luck and protection.
