Why Do You Not Stock 14kt Gold Chains?

In Western Europe, the common finenesses of gold are as follows: 9kt, 18kt, and 22kt - the latter is usually found in vintage or antique pieces only as it's considered too soft for daily wear.
While 10kt and 14kt gold are starting to make an appearance on the Irish and UK markets, they are much less familiar to consumers who tend to stick with what they know. For everyday wear, chains and bracelets made with 9kt gold are most prevalent.
9kt gold is 37.5% pure gold alloyed with a mixture of other metals to increase strength and malleability, which allows the metal to be worked and shaped.
As the price of gold has increased - as it inevitably does in times of war - 14kt gold chains, other than fine trace chains, have become prohibitively expensive. As a result, we have chosen to keep our heavier range in 9kt gold only. They are strong and sturdy and, with care, will carry your precious pendants for a lifetime.
