About This Piece

A striking and beautifully detailed ring made with great flair and innovation. The design for this ring was inspired by the spectacular metalwork of the Ardagh Chalice, an 8th century Irish treasure proudly on display in the National Museum in Dublin.

The filigree band on the original Chalice has a series of "shield" bosses, combined with a complex and highly decorative Celtic interlace. This design forms the basis of the ring, and the intricate pattern sweeps around the entire band.
