This substantial 12mm wide ring is made with great flair and innovation. A superb design, with inspiration taken from the Ardagh Chalice, an 8th century Irish treasure proudly on display in the National Museum in Dublin.
The filigree band on the original Chalice has a series of "shield" bosses, combined with a complex and highly decorative Celtic interlace. This design forms the basis of the ring, and the intricate pattern sweeps around the entire band. This design is framed by trims that are polished to a mirror sheen.
