Stunning double drop earrings. The design is taken from our priceless artefact called the Ardagh Chalice. A national treasure, found in 1868 and housed in our Dublin Museum for all to enjoy. The pattern on the Chalice forms the basis of shield decorations with an intricate and elaborate Celtic motif.
On closer examination you will notice both shields have a highly polished bead in the centre. This is surrounded by a fine milligrain edge. The bead accentuates the magnificent ornate design in all its splendour. The pattern has a 'Matte or Florintine' finish that really stands out. These earrings are really splendid. The fittings are very secure, they hook around the earlobe and snap shut, plus they have the added advantage of making the earrings dangle correctly.
The small shield on each earring is 16mm W. The larger shield is 20mm W. The height is 40mm including the fittings.
Made in Ireland. They are presented in a beautiful gift box.
