My Irish Jeweler
Born in Co. Antrim and reared in Dublin, I was fascinated with Gaelic culture from an early age. I suppose it's not surprising given my mother inherited a grá for the Irish language from my grandfather, an Irish school headmaster. And that grá continues! My brother and sister are now Gaelic teachers here in Ireland, my niece is an award winning Irish dancer, and I proudly work to share Irish culture through our Irish and Celtic Jewelry at My Irish Jeweler!
I love researching and reading about the history of Irish design. It's at the core of what we do here at My Irish Jeweler. I find much of it so interesting that I have to share what I find. I hope you enjoy it!

8 out of 10 for an immigrant of Scots/Irish ancestry living in the states (West Virginia) 😉
Sláinte 🍀🇮🇪🍻🇺🇸 🏴????????????????????????

Well done Micheal 👏 a score and an ancestry to be proud of. Thanks for taking part and hope you and yours have a very happy St. Patrick's Day ☘ Sláinte!

You are being a little tough on yourself there Nancy! That is certainly a score to be proud of and one that some Irish residents might not match. But of course we do hope you get to our lovely island soon. Until then, Happy St.Patrick's Day from all of us here in Dublin!

8/10 My mother is from County Cork! O’Sullivan is her maiden name. My maiden name is Dempsey

8/10. My husband and I have both Irish and Scottish in our ancestry, and we incorporated that in our wedding. He wore his clan kilt and his wedding band has the claddagh engraved around it. My engagement ring has trinity knots on either side of the diamond and I have a claddagh that he gave me as a promise ring.

Hi Rebecca, What a beautiful way to incorporate your heritage! The Trinity Knot is such a timeless, romantic choice. It really speaks volumes! Thanks for stopping by and visiting with us today -- it's a pleasure to chat with friends such as yourself! Happy St.Patrick's Day from our team in Dublin. Cheers, Liz.

Loved taking the quiz and actually learned some new stuff! My paternal grandmother was a Sullivan but died when my Dad was 8. Trying to learn more about her roots. Named after her. Been to Ireland once and absolutely loved the people, the culture, the stunning beauty. Want to go there again! Can’t wait for my beautiful jewelry ordered from you.

Hi Anne, It's great to hear that you are interested in your heritage and roots! There are great resources out there for researching -- and while it may get a bit overwhelming, keep with it and you'll be amazed what you can find out. I'm glad to read that you've had the chance to visit Ireland. When you're able to get back let us know and we'd only be too glad to have you over for a visit! All the best this Paddy's Day, Liz.

My family came from Ireland during the great famine. I tried to do research by found very little as their name was Ryan. Very common name. Now my daughter is married to a Ryan. I went to Dublin and loved it.

Hi Barbara, that is a very small world that your daughter is married to a Ryan! It's wonderful that you are interested in your background and curious about the Irish traces. My advice is while it can seem daunting there are clues dotted throughout historical sources that can help you paint a picture! Best of luck with your journey. Happy St. Patrick's Day from Dublin, Liz.

My great grandparents were born in Ireland. They came to America, don’t know what year, and with their Irish Accent, Americans couldn’t understand their last name and changed it to Kanan. I believe it was probably Caanan or something like that. My grandfather & my father were born in Iowa. Took the Irish quiz. Got 5 right. That’s fitting since I’m a little less than half Irish. I love the Irish culture. Been studying where my great grandparents were from.

Hi Kelli, Thanks for writing in with your story! It sounds like you are on a great track to learning more about your Irish roots. You're part of what is fondly known as the "Global Irish" and we're so glad to have you here with us today in anticipation of St. Patrick's Day! Cheers from Dublin, Liz.

8/10! Have always loved all things Irish only to discover I have Irish ancestors! My ancestors were Kellys from near Belfast and emigrated to Savannah, Ga in the 1600's. Thank you for this site.

Hi Becky, Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your day to take our quiz! It's clear that your passion for Ireland and your Irish roots is something you celebrate all year long but especially around this time! We're wishing you the warmest St. Patrick's Day from our team in Dublin, Liz.

I absolutely loved this quiz! Super fun, and I got a 10 out of 10! My parents are Irish, and I live in Dublin which is lovely! I also learned a few new things as well!
Thank you!
