Jewellery for Autumn: Our style tips for sweater weather

Written by Gemma on Sep 29, 2025 | 0 Comments

There's a chill in the air here in Dublin and we're ready to bust out our woollen jumpers, or sweaters for our North American friends! Which of course gets us thinking about the best accessories for the heavier, layered looks at this time of year.

Here are our top five tips for stylish autumn accessorizing:

      1. Stun with silver

Whether it is dark and moody oxidised finishes for an eye-catching, maximalist look, or polished and minimal for an elegant take on quiet luxury, silver is the metal of choice for the style set in autumn and we are wholeheartedly on board! The cooler tones of of this versatile precious metal hold their own with the chunky knits and darker colours at this time of year, with dark finishes like the black rhodium in our new "Black Claddagh" a great option for ladies or gents!

      2. Chic chains

A classic chain is a jewellery-box staple, the little black dress of jewellery, and it is stylish chains with a little bit extra that are everywhere this autumn. Think chunkier styles, and ones that have texture or interest, that can stand on their own or look great in stacked or layered looks. Our new Celtic Knot Chain, is an elegant design, prefect for layering but substantial enough to stand on its own in any ensemble. Day or night, this chain will add a refined polish to any look and is weighty enough to make a statement when worn with heavier fabrics at this time of year.

      3. A stylish swan?

We know... this is not what you were expecting! Swans, yes swans, and creatures of all sorts, have been a major motif for accessorizing for some time. Heading into darker days it can be refreshing to have a little fun with with your look while still embracing elegance. Swans have always been a strong theme in Irish myth and folklore, with these graceful birds acting as messengers. This sculptural, sterling silver Children of Lir brooch captures the beauty of a cherished Irish story of love, from master silversmith, Aidan Breen and combines several of this seasons trends!

        4. Be bold with brooches

Like the stunning silver swan above, brooches in general are bigger than ever this season. For those paying attention, brooches have been growing in popularity for the last few years and can now be spotted not just on a chunky knit, scarf, or coat, but also on a bag, hat brim, or even a shoe! They are a fabulous way to add interest and personality to any outfit, and have been an iconic style statement here in Ireland for thousands of years.

        5. Perfect pearls

We have said it before and we will say it again, pearls are a trend with staying power and we would argue being timeless, they are never out of style! They are particularly popular this year and authentic, stylish, and sophisticated, quality pearl jewellery crafted in sterling silver or yellow or white gold will look great now, next year, and every year to come. Pearls bring a lovely softness and refinement to the heavier looks of autumn. So whether it is a subtle stud or something more substantial, every jewellery collection needs at least a few pearls.
