Celtic hounds, or cú, were an integral part of ancient Irish society, protectors of the home, and guardians with impressive strength and loyalty. Though the reason for their incorporation in the Book ofKells has been lost to time, some see them as guardians of the sacred text.

Aidan Breen is one of Ireland's finest silversmiths. He was trained in his craft by a traditional seven year apprenticeship as a 'chaser' Born in Dublin Aidan was a pioneer of the Renaissance of Celtic jewellery. When the Celtic revival got its second wind in the 1970's Aidan was in a unique position to lead a new generation of artists and craftsmen as the acknowledged master of this style.
