About This Piece

This striking Sterling Silver Viking ring has an 18k Yellow gold bead at its centre. Decorated with shield motifs inspired by pieces that would have been worn in battle, the design draws on the forms of Viking artifacts found at Wood Quay in Dublin in the 1970's. This golden centre is framed by oxidised Sterling Silver, giving it an old and authentic feel. A marvellous Celtic pattern features on the shoulders as well as the sides of the ring with a swirling serpentine pattern. The use of different textures and finishes combines to beautiful effect in this ring with no detail spared.

The Vikings came to Ireland in 795 and established cities like Dublin, Waterford and Limerick before their power waned in the 11th Century. This ornate Viking cross is a modern version of the styles found on the old viking settlement site at Wood Quay Dublin during the 1970's.

This would make a fantastic gift for the person interested in Irish heritage and culture.

Hand crafted in Ireland and hallmarked at Dublin Castle just minutes from the Wood Quay Site that inspired their design, this ring is a striking piece of ancient Irish history that will spark conversation whenever and wherever it is worn.
