Thank You for Being a Friend: Customer Stories 2021

Written by Ciaran Vipond on Nov. 23, 2021 | 2 Comments

Our friends in the United States are celebrating Thanksgiving this week. Which got us thinking about gratitude and what we are most thankful for here at My Irish Jeweler - our wonderful customers!

As a small Irish family business, we value our wonderful customers hugely. We are delighted to connect with friends around the world who have chosen to include My Irish Jeweler in their stories.

Here are three customer stories that have recently warmed our hearts:

Love, Loyalty, & Friendship

The Claddagh has been an Irish emblem of love, loyalty, and friendship for over four centuries. We've been honored to provide Claddagh Jewelry for Engagements, Commitment Ceremonies, Weddings, Birthdays, and many more milestones in our 50+ years in the Irish Jewelry business.

So we were delighted when Alyssa from Australia sent in this lovely photograph and kind note, describing her Sterling Silver Claddagh Ring as: "A perfect fit! Stone cut and clarity are spot on, and the details in the craftsmanship (hands, knots, crown) are accurate and beautiful without being distracting. All of the 'sharp edges' (ie stone point, clasps) are unobtrusive and don't catch on clothing or clothes." ⁣

Thank you Alyssa! We were so pleased to hear you are happy with your lovely ring and appreciate the time taken to send us a photo and note.

Forever Love

We always cheer in the workshop to hear from customers who have chosen a My Irish Jeweler wedding ring for this most consequential piece of jewelry.

Malcolm and his Bride made our week when they got in touch with this beautiful photo. The lovely couple took their vows in Australia this summer and chose our Grá Go Deo Ring with Celtic Knot for Malcolm's band. "Grá Go Deo" in Gaelic means "Love Forever." We couldn't be happier for them and wish the happy couple "Grá Go Deo."

Family History

Are you the family historian? Or do you have a history buff in your life? We've worked with many history enthusiasts over the years to render their own Family Coat of Arms in sterling silver or gold. We always love hearing back about how these most personal of pieces were received.

So it was a real treat for the team to hear from Katie. She gifted her husband a Family Crest Ring for their 5th Anniversary. Katie wrote: "We were supposed to be spending it in Ireland (where we spent 3 weeks for our honeymoon), but life (covid, travel restrictions, aging parents, 4 kids heading off to college) got in the way. We were both very sad to miss our trip, so I decided to bring a little piece of Ireland to my husband. He LOVES his new Family Crest Ring! It fits perfectly, is wonderfully detailed, arrived sooner than expected and we are both so impressed with the quality craftsmanship."

Here's hoping Katie, her husband, and his ring are all happily on their way to visit Ireland in the very near future!

My Irish Jeweler

Born in Co. Antrim and reared in Dublin, I was fascinated with Gaelic culture from an early age. I suppose it's not surprising given my mother inherited a grá for the Irish language from my grandfather, an Irish school headmaster. And that grá continues! My brother and sister are now Gaelic teachers here in Ireland, my niece is an award winning Irish dancer, and I proudly work to share Irish culture through our Irish and Celtic Jewelry at My Irish Jeweler!

I love researching and reading about the history of Irish design. It's at the core of what we do here at My Irish Jeweler. I find much of it so interesting that I have to share what I find. I hope you enjoy it!
