We're well into Communion and Confirmation season here in Ireland, which got us chatting here at My Irish Jeweler about special gifts we received as kids to mark important rites of passage. Each one of us can remember receiving a special piece of jewelry as a child to mark religious ceremonies like Communions or Confirmations, as well as big birthdays or graduations.
Communions and Confirmations are everywhere in Ireland each spring, with the vast majority of young people participating in these coming-of-age ceremonies. It is a common tradition here in Ireland to give the young person a gift to mark the day, a keepsake to reflect on in years to come.
